A Strange Incident in China
Tianjin: A flight from the Chinese city of Weifang to Haikou recently had to be canceled because a passenger threw six coins into the plane’s engine as a good omen for the “well-being” of the flight. The passenger plane had a capacity of only 160 people, including crew.
By then, all the passengers and crew had boarded the plane, and airport officials immediately told the pilot not to start the plane’s engine and to evacuate all passengers immediately.
The flight was canceled due to an emergency and all passengers were diverted the next morning.
Meanwhile, civil aviation authorities in China also identified and detained the man who threw coins into the engine of the plane, who said he had thrown the coins into the engine as a “good omen” so that the plane could take off. And all the passengers on board have reached their destination safely.
